This duo combines Machu Picchu, the lost citadel of the Incas, and a hike on the Wayna Picchu mountain; 2 of Peru's top attractions. Discovered by an American explorer in 1911, Machu Picchu has been the most important archaeological site and most visited in South America since then. Both sites will amaze you by their splendor.

What to expect

You will be picked up from your hotel in Aguas Calientes by your guide who will take you to Machu Picchu. You will take the longest path to pass by the Guard House, which is the best place to take stunning pictures of the site. You will then go down into the site itself; it is where you will see temples, palaces, plazas, and many other monuments that make the popularity of the site. Brace yourself because you will also hike on Wayna Picchu, a mountain located very close to the site. Also known as Huayna Picchu, the mountain is however higher than Machu Picchu with its altitude of 2720 meters above sea level. From up there, the view will you knock you off of your feet.
The guide will accompany you during the whole excursion. So, go ahead, ask him any questions about the site and the Incas civilization; he will be happy to answer them.

If you arrive in Peru on the same day of the scheduled tour, you will be picked up at the train station. Therefore, it is very important to provide information about your train and Machu Picchu tickets.
